La Niña.
Yep. Another video.
Today was so freaking awesome. I've been saying for a while that I really need a vacation, and this was it. And it was so awesome. I spent the vast majority of my day watching trailers for ski movies. (Don't worry Mom, I went to school.) Which means I spent the vast majority of my day with my jaw in my lap and goosebumps all over my skin.
I watched a guy break his femur in TGR's One for the Road.
I watched guys ski some SICK POW in Powderwhore's Breaking Trail. (This one MIGHT turn me into a bc skier this year...)
Other than that, going to class, and playing some Oblivion, I didn't do much today. I needed a vacation, and I got it.

Imploding.
I am a dirty rotten liar. I know I've said probably a million times that I don't want to get married until I'm 25, but that is complete crap. I want to be married so bad. And okay, this will seem dramatic but I'm not so sure it's going to happen, at least any time soon. My heart is caving in on itself and I am at a complete loss as to how this happened. What did I do? Why didn't I see this coming? Why wasn't I more careful? I'm so tired of this.
Don't worry, this won't turn into a bitter diatribe- it hurts too much. I know, I know, it was just ten days, but was I wrong to hope for more, or even expect more? I'm not going to call him the biggest jerk on the planet, because he's not. He's pretty close to the exact opposite of a jerk, and I'm not just saying that because I may or may not have started falling completely and unashamedly in love with him, but because his not being a jerk is one of the things I was originally so attracted to. I only wish he would've thought a little more in the beginning; he could've saved us both a pretty big amount of heartache. But it's water under the bridge now.
I hate to be dramatic, but I really am not sure I can take a whole lot more of this.

Reach.
Okay, so, I'm sure most of you guys don't give a rat's rear about video games, especially Halo, but I just wanted you to see this.
It's gorgeous. It's violent. It's sad. It's perfect.
It's Halo Reach.
This is the second live action Halo trailer I've fallen in love with. The first was ODST.
WHO THE HECK ARE THESE PEOPLE?
I mean, seriously, can we make a live action trailer for Skyrim? It would be so epic.*
Anyway, I think it would be incredible to be an actor for live action video game trailers. Especially if they were all this cool.
All Hail Bungie.
*Addendum, 10/26. There is a live action trailer for Skyrim. Check it out in this post.

Shut-In.
So this weekend, David came up to Logan with me. What on earth would possess him to want such a thing, I will probably never know. But anyway, this weekend generally consisted of us sitting around watching movies, listening to music, and sorting through my stuff. I know, right?! So exciting. Definitely anyone's idea of a good time. Oh, and let's not forget that we made blondies. Which were actually really good. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/blonde-brownies-i/detail.aspx Try them.
On one note, we watched the live-action Avatar. And even though I complained the entire time, it actually wasn't that bad. Sure, they messed up my two favorite characters, and the costume design left something to be desired, and they mispronounced a bunch of things (seriously? I mean, it's not like you didn't have a show to watch to tell you how to pronounce Aang's name...), but the set design was fantastic, the bending was sweet, and it was admittedly kind of cool to see Avatar in real life. I think that if I weren't such a diehard Avatar fan, I would've thought the movie was sweet, and started watching the show. I'm glad I watched the show first.
Right now at this very moment, David is also blogging, and I just have to say that it cracks me up. He cracks me up. WE crack me up.
On another note, I realized that compliments make me extremely uncomfortable. Why that is, I'm not exactly sure. But it's making me re-evaluate what I want in a relationship. Most girls (I'm serious, don't even deny this) hold the belief that it is their boyfriends' duty to pay them endless and personalized compliments every five seconds on the second (but isn't it?). Apparently that is not really my thing. Maybe more like every five years on the year...
On a third note, we're leaving in an hour.

Single.
This post originally turned out as a bitter diatribe about how I dislike couples, but honestly, I'm half of a couple anyway. I'm also significantly less bitter towards couples upon leaving Aspen Grove, for multiple reasons. One of these being the fact that I'm not constantly surrounded by couples anymore. Another is this member of the male gender, who, for some reason still somewhat beyond me, seems to legitimately like me. Not in the, "Oh, you were cute, and I thought I might date you, until we went out more, and your personality completely overwhelmed me, and now I gotta find myself a more submissive housewifey girl" way, but in the "You're cute, and your personality is awesome" way.
I know, right? I was beginning to wonder if these were mythical creatures.
Even if it ends up not going anywhere or he ends up being the submissive housewifey type (which my subconscious is still steeling me for, old habits die hard), my faith in the male gender has been somewhat restored.
Let me explain some of my bitterness to you, so you might understand why old habits die hard.
November 2010 (David, I lied, the last real date I went on was in November. Ma bad.), date with a certain gentleman who we shall call Exhibit A. First Date with Exhibit A was a blind date (yes I know) on which we went on an activity, then returned to his apartment (at his suggestion) for hot chocolate, then ended up watching a movie, during which he held my hand. Second Date was his suggestion, after which he informed me that he didn't "want to date or anything, or actually hang out at all." Apparently I'm a great girl, but my personality is "just a little too intense."
Jigga WHAT?
Okay, well, I will admit I can be a little intense sometimes. I have a super strong personality, but it's who I am, and it's NOT A BAD THING. Yeah, I can be a little domineering sometimes, and I can be kind of overbearingly enthusiastic on occasion, and my sarcasm can be difficult to read at times, but it has allowed me to discover my true friends, and keep them.
But hold my hand on the first date, ask me out again, and then essentially tell me that you want absolutely nothing to do with me? Is anyone else a little lost here, or am I alone on this one?
January-August 2010, relationship who we shall call Exhibit B. This wonderful gentleman just wanted to get out of his mother's house but stay in her good graces, and thus convinced the first girl who showed any sign of weakness to his masculine wiles that she wanted to marry him by pretending to be someone he wasn't. Got that? Great. And guess who that girl was? Yep, you got it. The worst part is, I believed him for eight months. I hope you're starting to get a grasp of my skepticism.
April 2009, crazy boyfriend (Exhibit C) texting me while on vacation in Hawaii telling me what a horrible girlfriend I was and how I was such a whore and the list continues. This nearly led to a restraining order from my infuriated father. You don't mess with his baby girl.
May 2008-April 2011, Exhibit D through every-single-boyfriend-I've-ever-had dumping me.
Oops, bitter diatribe.
But then comes along Knight in Three Piece Suit, who opens my car door and carries my groceries and quotes Monty Python with me and plays in the rain and... likes me.

Rain.
It rained last night. A lot. And I've got to be honest, for
about an hour, my life almost turned into a chick flick.
CUTE guy + park + playground + rain = oh my gosh, is this
actually happening right now?
Especially the moment when we quoted the entire Dennis scene
from Monty Python from memory.
Anyway, he’s probably reading this, so I’m not going to
divulge my entire soul or anything. Sorry…
Okay okay okay, I’m sure you’re simply DYING to know what I’ve
been up to this whole summer, but you’re going to have to wait a little bit.
That particular blog post will take me a couple of days to get all written and
such. I just wanted you to know that I did indeed survive the summer, and that
things are looking good. J

Derp.
You know those days where you just feel... braindead?
Yeah, you guessed it, that was today.
It might have been all of that bleach I had to inhale from cleaning the sick cabins. Who also checked out an hour late. And they were the only cabins we needed to clean. >:[ Grrrrrrr.
Anyway, I got to the barn super later than I wanted to, and from that time to when I left I was just... bleh. I accidentally sprayed fly spray in my eyes (yeah, don't ask), and I think the only thing I actually did right was grain bags. Although somehow the seven grain bags I made to last through the week disappeared faster than they were supposed to, and unevenly. ?! Whatever. I'm so frustrated with not being at the barn every day. I miss it. I miss being around Rachel all the time, like, for real. She's so great.
Sunday will be better.
