Fa-reak!

It's been waaaaaaaaaaay longer than normal since I posted last... Blame Chris. He knows, he doesn't care. Neither do I, frankly. As much as I love you all, Chris trumps.

But seriously, today and Monday will be the only days this week that I don't see him. Can you say freaking spoiled? Yeah. It's been amazing, but it's going to make the next few weeks REALLY HARD. Because next week is crunch time, with finals the week after that and then... my 'break' from hell. I'm literally working every single day all break. Actually, I'm working every single day from the ninth to about... oh, mid-April. Yep. Every single day. I know, you're thinking, "What about Christmas? What about Sundays?" Yep, even those. I'm sure I'll get an earful about not working on Sundays, but if I don't, I won't make enough money to pay my tuition when March 1st rolls around. I know, depressing/scary/sad right? So honestly, I spent (and will spend) the majority of my week with Chris because I need to fill up the tank to keep me going for the next month, when I'm honestly not sure how much I'll get to see him. I'm sure I'll see him more than I'm thinking I will, because let's face it, we are kind of addicted to each other. But in a good way. :)

So I'll give you a rundown of my week, after Monday that is. Tuesday, went to work, then school, then drove to Salt Lake. Five Guys for dinner. (So good.) We talked about how smart we are (but seriously, we actually did talk about that) and other related topics, then headed back 'home' to watch... oh shoot, what DID we watch? Ummmm... dangit... what did we watch? I know at some point we played Harry Potter Scene It and I kicked his TRASH (he will deny this vehemently, but there's no way around it, I womped) and I seem to recall we watched... dangit, I don't even remember. He had class at nine and I had class at eleven so we figured we'd go really late, then do breakfast before heading to our respective places of education. Yeah, after sleeping for about five hours at my 'Salt Lake residence' (seriously, I might as well just move in) and then doing breakfast... yeah, he ended up skipping class and coming to mine instead. Yes, that does mean we drove down to Provo, and yes, he sat around doing nothing while I worked... Seriously, I had a work meeting at Sundance that lasted FOUR AND A HALF HOURS, it was utterly ridiculous. I had thought it would maybe be an hour or two... yeah, right. I finally got back to my apartment just before TEN. Ridiculous. At that point we probably should've just stayed in Provo... but we didn't. My one Thursday class got cancelled, so we were together all day until he had to work. It was fabulous. We attempted to watch Dune (too weird, we didn't finish) watched all three Robot Chicken Star Wars, watched Avatar, and of course, ridiculous amounts of conversation.

Today feels like Thursday because of that though. It's obnoxious.

Tomorrow... Full day of skiing! Yippee! And then... Chris! Meeting my parents! (Ay, I'm nervous.) Ugly Sweater Party! Double date with La and Marine! Church at Chris's ward and meeting HIS parents on Sunday! (Super nervous for that one... yikes.) And then... the week from hell! Yeahhhhhhh.

Golf.

It's just BARELY Friday, and I just HAD to post.
So, tonight was my date with Mr. Butler. His original plan had been to paint rocks with glow sticks and then go skip them. Which actually sounds like a really cool idea, but remember how it SNOWED? Yeah, outside activities not really the best idea. Anyway, he texted me earlier in the day to ask if indoor miniature golfing was okay, and of course I said yes. It's been like, forever since I've been mini golfing. But that's not why I said yes. I said yes because this guy is cute, AND he asked me on a real date.
Okay, I digress. So at 8:30 he comes to pick me up, and of course I make a mental note of his height. I would put him at about 6'1". Score number one. I also notice that he's a LOT cuter in real life than he is on Facebook. Score number two. We walk to his super nice car (fairly new Saab) and he opens my door. Score number three. I mean, it's not the most important thing on the planet, but when a guy doesn't open my car door on a date, I take note. Frankly, I think it's kind of tacky when he doesn't. It's not THAT much effort, and it means a lot to girls, and gets serious gentleman points. I'm not really a fan of them opening my door when I get out, because then I have to wait for them to get around the car to open my door. But getting in? It's not necessary, but it's an extremely good gesture. And gets some serious bonus points.
ANYWAY, so we get to Trafalga, and start to bust out the mini golf. First hole he says, "All right, show me how it's done." So what do I do? Putt a hole in one. Yeah, great, set the bar nice and high. The golfing went downhill from there, but it's okay, because the conversation was great. The theme of the mini golf place was ocean-y, and there was this one dolphin-alligator-shark creature, and I said something about Avatar. Slight pause... "That's like, my favorite show ever." My jaw nearly dropped on the floor. Super cute guy who not only caught my kind of obscure Avatar reference, but openly admits that he loves the show, and then says his favorite character is Zuko (just like me)?!!! Oh my gosh. I'm in trouble.
After I finish kicking his butt at golf (ha, jk, we both sucked pretty bad) we decided to go get hot chocolate. Which ended up being us making hot chocolate at my apartment. Of course, that might have been my suggestion so that I could lasso him into watching Avatar with me (I know, shameless). Eventually we did end up watching The Great Divide, lamest episode ever, but it was entertaining. Of course.
Then came the end of the date (he initiated the hug, hurray!) and me telling him I had a great time, both in person and over PDT. And the best part? He responded to PDT very positively, and is still texting me.
Second date? I don't know. But he smiled a lot tonight. Heck, I smiled a lot tonight.
I think that's probably a good thing.

"Roomies."

I freakin' hate that word. It's one of those super tacky words that people use all the time. It BOTHERS ME. And I know it shouldn't.
You know what else bothers me? Facebook relationship statuses. Other than 'married' or 'engaged' I think they are even tackier than the word ROOMIE. But I hate not knowing if a guy is dateable or not............

Okay, moving right along. Did I tell you about Mr. How I Met Your Mother? He's a friend of my coworker (the same one who gave me the 'ask and ye shall receive' tidbit) who came in the other Wednesday, and we ended up talking pop culture for like, an hour and a half. Avatar, Firefly, Community, Robot Chicken Star Wars, Skyrim, Halo, and WOW were all discussed, among other things. Anyway, I wasn't flirtatious or anything, but it was one of those things where I was like, 'I think to this guy I might seem like the trifecta... so why didn't he ask for my number... or something?' But of course, because he's a guy, and I'm intimidating, he didn't.

Fast forward to today at work. I think Ben may have mentioned something to Himym, (I had expressed a, 'Seriously, why don't guys like that fall at my feet? Do they think girls like me exist in great supply?' to him. That sounds REEEEEALLY arrogant, but I think I can confidently say that I am not ugly, and I'm definitely a nerd, so... what more do they want?!) because in he walks. I showed him my freakin' awesome shirt ("Also, I can kill you with my brain") and we chatted for a bit. And then he said, "What are you doing on Friday?" Oh my gosh, am I getting asked on a date? "Um... I dunno... school/work/football..." "Do you want to go to Red Robin?" Holy crap. Yes, I am. "Yeah!" Because let's be honest, who doesn't like getting asked out by a guy she can be a total nerd around? I'm not saying that this kid is my soulmate, but I miss having someone to geek out over video games and Star Wars and Lord of the Rings with. I have a feeling that this date is going to consist of the nerdiest conversation I have ever had, and I am thrilled.

I love being a nerd.

And not this kind of nerd -
She is not a real nerd. Or at least, I highly doubt it. Putting on big glasses does not make you a 'nerd'.

THIS kind of nerd -
Because she probably spent a ton of time making that freaking incredible Zelda costume.
